A refund policy for work that is made once, for one customer. What can be cancelled depends on how far the job has gone — and everything changes at proof approval.
Draft — awaiting legal review
This document is a working draft prepared from standard industry practice. It has not been reviewed by a qualified legal adviser, and parts of it record decisions IC Advertisers Pvt. Ltd. has yet to confirm. Please do not rely on it as a statement of your rights or ours. If something here matters to a decision you are making, ask us and we will answer plainly.
Almost everything we make is made for one customer and is worthless to anybody else. A banner carries your name. A sign is cut to your shopfront. A carton is die-cut to your product. There is no shelf to put a returned job back on, and no second customer to sell it to.
That is why this policy is built around how far the job has progressed rather than around a number of days. Once artwork is approved, plates are made, material is cut or a crew is booked, the cost has been incurred whatever happens next.
What this policy does not do is limit your rights when we get something wrong. If the work does not match what you approved, that is our problem to fix, and it is covered below.
Where a job has reached decides what can be cancelled. In order:
to be confirmed: Confirm whether a deposit is taken, at what percentage, and on which kinds of job.
to be confirmed: Confirm whether the deposit is refundable if the job is cancelled before proof approval, refundable less costs already incurred, or non-refundable. Whichever it is, it must be stated on the quotation as well as here, or the two documents will contradict each other.
Tell us in writing as early as you can. Before proof approval, you are charged for what has actually been done and committed — which typically means:
to be confirmed: Confirm whether there is a cancellation window in which no charge applies at all, and how long it is.
We will tell you what has been incurred before you decide, so that cancelling is an informed choice rather than a surprise invoice.
Once you approve a proof in writing, the job cannot normally be cancelled and is not refundable. Approval is the instruction to commit material and machine time, and both are committed immediately.
It is also the moment the approved proof becomes the specification. If something you approved turns out to be wrong — a misspelled name, an old phone number, the wrong price — correcting it is a new job at your cost, however sympathetic we are about it. This is why the proof stage deserves more attention than it usually gets.
to be confirmed: Confirm whether any partial cancellation is offered in the short window between approval and the job reaching the press — for example, cancelling a second item in a multi-item order that has not yet started.
This is different from cancelling, and it is on us.
We will put it right at our cost where:
to be confirmed: Confirm the remedy and who chooses it: reprint or replacement, a credit note against the invoice, or a refund. For custom work the usual and fairest first remedy is to remake the item, because that is what you actually wanted — but the policy must say so plainly.
Where only part of an order is affected, the remedy applies to that part.
These are consequences of how printing physically works, and they are set out in full in our terms. In short:
Installed work carries costs that are incurred whether or not the installation succeeds — a crew, a vehicle, lifting equipment and a scheduled slot.
A completed job is payable whether or not it has been collected — it was made to your order and cannot be sold to anyone else.
to be confirmed: Confirm how long finished goods are held free of charge, what storage charge applies afterwards, and after what period uncollected goods may be disposed of. Any disposal period must be long enough to be fair, and we will contact you before it expires.
Tell us as soon as you notice it. Please send:
to be confirmed: Confirm the window for reporting a fault after delivery or installation. A window matters for a real reason: a printing defect is provable on the day and hard to distinguish from handling damage weeks later.
Please keep the item and its packaging until the matter is settled. We may need to inspect it, and for an installed piece we may need to visit the site.
to be confirmed: Confirm how quickly the business will respond to a claim, and how quickly an agreed refund will be paid. A refund is returned by the same method it was paid.
Nothing in this policy removes rights you have under Indian consumer law. Where a right applies to you, it applies whatever this page says. This policy sets out how we handle things in practice; it is not an attempt to contract out of the law.
